Screencast: Virb Transport
Transport is not to be confused with a Transformer; yet is equally amazing! Transformers can turn into a car, a kitchen sink (I think it was a generic knock-off) and even an airplane. Cool huh?
Well, what if you had the ability to 'transport' and place your VIRB profile's content on other websites? Taking things like your friends list, recently played songs and/or videos and showing them on your blog. That'd be better than a Transformer, right?
The great news is that it's on the way, and I have even included a video tour. The screencast link below will give you a quick overview of Transport's capabilities. We look forward to your feedback.

This is just so cool. I have been trying to figure out how to do this, and now it is a default feature. Nice!

Pretty nice Idea. I will looking forward to it.
But a little feedback. in the video when you chose videos to display there are the thumps in the html code. But what is when something will be add? What I want to say is that it doesn't look like a structure like in customize in the backend of virb, so that it doesn't depend on the content because of module-placeholder. I hope don't get it wrong.

Nice! You boys have been busy.
Hey, umm… With this comment form I'm filling out – you should prefill the "Your VIRB Profile URL" with http://www.virb.com/ so I don't have to type that bit in every time! ;-)

Very nice, looking forward to this one.
I'm sure you guys have already though of this, but are there any future plans for an API?

Lemmi, can you explain what you are talking about a little more?

James, it should automatically save your data that you filled out in the name-url section.

Elite, guys. Super elite.
In all your whiteboard plannings and profound brain things going on, did you consider how this feature basically puts VIRB in the driver's seat, front-and-center for a person's online presence? No? Well it does.
Nice job.

Okay. Please compare the advanced-area in the customize-section in the a backend of a profil on virb. There is the HTML-textarea, where you can build the rough layout-structure for the profil. In the video I saw such textarea too. But the html-code of the thumps already have id's. I ask me what might happen when a user add a new video or picture.
Maybe you already think about it and although there are id's in the html-code php can create the html-code and filter the layout-structure in it.
PS: Sry for the bad english. I'm a little german newbie. :wink

Yes. Wow. Awesome. My blogger blog is my main personalized social site. But I love my VIRB (more than I thought I would). This feature is very smart and I'm looking forward to being able to display my VIRB stuff on my blog.
thanks

@Smart- Perhaps I have a post coming next week about a new website built for that very purpose. Perhaps… :)

hosting the virb music player on external sites… now THAT would be cool! PRETTY PLEASE.
posted by Travis on April 21, 2007 at 10:39pm
now, all you guys need to do is add a button that will automatically send invite messages to virb members' myspace friendslists.
this is a great idea though. i know i'll use it on my blog and other personal websites. good idea… definitely.

Nice one :-)
Just some feedback, though:
1. As Jeff Smith already mentioned it: An officlal API as addition for VirbTransport would be really nice. 2. I'm not so sure about giving the transport such a "normal" @id. IMO something like "virbtransport_videos" would be better compared to "videos" in order to avoid conflicts. In addition an additional @class (for example "virbtransport") would IMO make styling it much easier.
