Screencast: Import Your Blog
In a recent blog post, you might recall that I was quite giddy about an exciting new feature here in Virbland.
Many of you have other blogs and probably find yourself dancing the content entry tango in two different places. That will no longer be the case. Simply take the RSS/Atom link from your other 'external' blog, plug it into VIRB and be amazed as everything imports before your very eyes. How about I stop typing and just link up my new screencast below?!? This is most certainly worthy of a... Booyah!

Wow, that is so cool. I like it how you can keep the blog entries and still can stop syndicating it. Very handy for when you move all your blogs into virb and stop using the external one.
I can't wait to start using this!

A great step in the right direction, I'm kind of surprised we didn't have this earlier, but I'm glad we are now!
Another big step forward would be to import our last.fm play history into virbtunes. Now that would seriously rock my socks.

Awesome idea, I would absolutely love this functionality.
This will improve the quality of many profiles and maybe people will view my profile more than once ;)

So simple it should be packaged with crayons.
(Yeah, not sure what that means either.)
Keep up the good work, guys. Definitely looking forward for this feature's rollout.

It's about time someone realized that they aren't going to get everyone to give up their regular sites in favor of theirs. So many sites think that people will just abandon their already established blogs for this new one. I can't wait to put it in practice.

This is a great feature.
Not sure if this is a proper place to do a feature request but it's somewhat related…I've chosen to show my full blog posts on my profile page, rather than excerpts- because I can't style the standard Virb blog view. I'd love it if some of the same features were available on the profile page, like Leave a Comment, the Number of Comments, etc. If I choose to import my external blog into Virb that would be the only way I'd really find it really interactive and "blog-like". I don't want readers to have to hit "See All" and be taken off the main profile page to see that they can comment or if anyone else has. I realize they'd still be taken there to actually comment or read comments…
Also on the subject of RSS- since you guys don't allow javascript and I can't seem to find a flash wrapper for RSS feeds that will work with your modules… is there any way for you to make a pre-made module for RSS feeds? Pretty please?
by the by, I love the site and have switched over from my Wordpress site. I've turned into a minor Virb evangelist. Keep up the good work!

Brad, do you do the voice-over on Apple's pro app training? And add in an Australian accent?

Love this idea, now having a date for the release would be awesome. I blog on many sites and would love to be able compile them all in one spot….

Hey gang. We're just working out a few final kinks on the RSS Blog Import. I think we're on track for a mid-week launch…. this week! :)
As soon as we know more, I'll pass it on to you.

Whoo-hoo! Thanks, Brad! I'll call off the dogs, then – and wait until tomorrow.

I've tried importing from MySpace and Blogger, but no luck. Is this feature ready?

Hi guys,
It'd be cool if y'all could use the existing permalinks for posts from an existing blog. No point diluting content for search engines, etc.

I tried importing my Myspace blog using the RSS feed from my myspace and nothing displays in my Virb Blog. Could anyone help?
